Therapeutic Horseback Riding and Children with Autism Developmental Dis

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental disorder that affects a person’s social interaction and communication. This disorder is mainly characterized by having difficulty with social interaction, communication, and having restricted behaviors. Difficulty with social interaction means someone will struggle to communicate their feelings/emotions, understand how others feel or think, develop peer relationships, and understand nonverbal behaviors (eye gaze, facial expressions, etc). Difficulty with communication will vary among the individual. Some individuals will develop expressive language, while others will not. The speech of those that do develop expressive language will often be repetitive, rote, and lack meaning. They may struggle with turn taking in conversation and topic maintenance. Those individuals who do not develop expressive language typically do not use other modalities to communicate, like pointing or gestures. The last characteristic of the autistic spectrum disorder is having repetitive behaviors or activities. Typically children on the spectrum will play with their toys in an unusual manner, or may prefer only one toy, movie, or activity. Changes in daily schedule are hard for children on the spectrum to adapt to; usually these children like the same daily schedule. Bass, Duchowny, and Llabre (2009) state, â€Å"It is possible that animal-assisted activities provide a multisensory environment that will prove beneficial to children with profound social and communication deficits.† Macauley and Gutierrez (2004) state: Today, in the United States, people’s use of horses can be classified into two main categories: equine-assisted activities and equine-assisted therapy. Essay --

Light vs Dark love: Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby Throughout The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, relationships developed and the inevitable happened. Daisy Buchanan and Jay Gatsby rekindled their love, or so it seemed. Daisy Buchanan has an unmistakable elusive quality about herself. Fitzgerald correlates Daisy with the sun because of this quality. Fitzgerald also correlates Gatsby with darkness. Darkness can not survive where there is light, therefore Daisy’s and Gatsby’s love can not survive. Within the first three chapters of the novel Fitzgerald prepares the reader for the rest of the book by foreshadowing. One of the most memorable foreshadows in the beginning was when Daisy snapped out the candle after hearing Gatsby’s name mentioned by Miss Baker. This is an important part in the book because â€Å"Fitzgerald associates Daisy’s affections for Gatsby with sunlight.† (Sutton) The snapping out of the light foreshadows that Daisy’s affections for Gatsby have disappeared just as the light from the candle has. Due to the fact that Gatsby is correlated with darkness, he attempts to attract Daisy through a dazzling display of artificial light. When he throws his huge extravagant parties, his attempts show. Nick explains one of Gatsby’s parties by saying there were â€Å"enough colored lights to make a Christmas tree of Gatsby’s enormous garden.† (Fitzgerald 40) But, â€Å"No matter how brightly his lights shine, he can not halt the passage of time as embodied in the changing of seasons.† (Sutton) By the changing of seasons, from autumn to fall, mostly all light will cease to exist, so will Daisy’s love for Gatsby. Another attempt Gatsby tries to attract Daisy’s attention is in chapter five. The lights coming from Gatsby’s house were ... ...ut the light.† (Fitzgerald 147) That was a very important part in the plot due to the fact that her love for Gatsby is symbolized by light. Once she turned off the light, it made it clear that she no longer has feelings for him. Nor will she ever. Even more proof to show that they were not in love is when Tom goes to kill Gatsby. He succeeded. Nobody ever found out that Tom killed Gatsby. Daisy and Tom continued to live their life. Fitzgerald never stated if Daisy struggled with the fact that she practically killed two people. Only can assume that she did not even care. Overall, Daisy’s and Gatsby’s love was doomed from the start. Fitzgerald associates Daisy’s love for Gatsby with sunlight. From the start, Daisy had been putting out that sunlight. Fitzgerald also made it clear that their love would not survive when he choose to place the novel’s setting in autumn.

The Shogun Dynasty :: Chinese China History

The term Shogun means general. Later, it refered to the leader of the Shogunate (Samurai's government). From 1192-1867, the Shogun ruled Japan. The Emperor reigned but did not rule. The Shoguns were a type of warlords that governed providences and states as a type of Japanese check and balance of the 16th century. The name of that form of government was called Shogunate. The Shogunates ruled as a military dictatorship for over a span of almost 700 years: they fought the Mongolians in 1281, fought in a civil war during 1467-1477, fought for Osaka in 1615, and saw Commodore Perry in 1853. The samurai are one of the most reconizable and most renowned warriors of the ancient times. They were members of a unique military class called the Japanese warriors. They emereged and grew more and more important during the Heian period (794-1185) when powerfull land owners hired them for their personal saftey and protection of their property. In the later times of the Heian period the most powerful military families, the Minamoto and Taira, had taken over political power over Japan and fought wars and battles for supremacy. When shogun Minamoto Yoritomo established a new government in Kamakura in 1192, the shogun (the highest military officer) became the ruler of Japan. The samurai were pinacled at the top of the social hierarchy and had many privilages. On the other hand, they were supposed to set a good example for the lower classes by following the principles of Bushido (the way of the warrior). The samurai's most important principles or duties were to be loyal to his master, use self-discipline and respect and also to use ethical behaviour. After a defeat or other dishonourable event many of the saurai chose to commit suicide by cutting their abdomen with a sword in order to preserve their honour. Such ritual suicide is called seppuku or harakiri. During the Edo period, which was mainly a peaceful time, most samurai had no motive or need to fight or do battle. In light of their situation many of the samurai chose to dedicate themselves to intellectual studies such as literature, history or the tea ceremony. In the 17th century, masterless and unemployed samurai caused some problems to the government because of their increased intellect. After the Meiji Restoration (1868), the samurai class dissapeared. The samurai sword, the katana, is still today the distinguishing mark of the samurai.

Discuss the Relationship Between Dada and Punk

Discuss the Relationship Between Dada and Punk. Within this essay I will be exploring the close relationship between Dada and Punk. Dada and Punk are both movements which were used to express a social change within their time, through art, fashion and music. Although the Dada movement was at its peak in 1916 to 1922 and the Punk movement started in the mid 1970s, both show the same ideologies and techniques towards they work.Throughout the essay I will break down each of the movements into certain groups and analyzes the similarities between both of them. To understand the developments of both movements, you need to understand the environment in which they were formed. Dada started in 1916, two years after World War 1 started. World War 1 was a complicated war, involving many countries taking sides due to the conflict between Austria-Hungary and Serbia, the conflict was brought to a head in the battle of the Somme, France, 1916.This was when many artists, writers and others took refu ge in Zurich, Switzerland, which was neutral during the war, many were angry at what was happening to the world, within the book Dadaism, Huelsenbeck (2004, pg 8) stated ‘None of us had any understanding for the courage that is needed to allow oneself to be shot dead for the idea of the nation†¦ ’, they were disgusted by the war and the idea that the nation’s public would support such violence, and they were frustrated with having no control over what was happening, a similar feeling the punks had in the 1970s.Dadaism was about rebelling against the war, they wanted to take the control back and the only way they could was through art, Huelsenbeck (2004 pg 17) quoted ‘DADA means nothing. We want to change the world with nothing’, it is easy to see Dadaist felt the modern world they were now living in was meaningless and so wanted to reject all traditions, especially art tradition, so they decided to create non-art which had no meaning to go with the meaningless world, they took some control back. The Punks had a similar attitude, they wanted to take back control of their future. The Punk movement started in the mid 1970s, a reaction against the recession. A recession which affected most of the working class, due to strikes, three day weeks and lack of opportunity, very different if you compare it to the days of the 1960s, where youth culture exploded on to the scene, free love and England was swinging. Due to the recession the youth of the working class felt failed and disillusioned, a feeling shown in the Sex Pistol’s song ‘God Save The Queen’(1977) ‘Don’t be told what you want, Don’t be told what you need, There’s no future, no future, No Future for you’.The punks felt like they had no voice, no power and no future so they wanted to make a statement, and like Dada, they wanted to take back control and the only way they could do this was through art, music and fashion. I mage 1, ‘Dada’ It seems both movements were angry over the situation they were living in, and people will only live under that strain until an outburst happens, and when society does snap, people will want change. For the two movements they protested, Dada protested against the War and the bourgeois nationalist who they felt was the root of the war, while punks protested against the establishment. The Dadaist, George Grosz once stated that his work was a protest ‘against the world of mutual destruction’, a quote which fits well with the Dadaist but also the Punks, they used destruction of tradition as the protest against the destructive world. It is clear to see that the Punk movement looked up to Dada, just looking at Jamie Reid’s work and you can Dada’s influence by their use of type and the DIY look, same ideologies, there was even a fanzine issue called Dada which compared Punk to Dada, shown in ‘Image 1’ on the right. The Punks were well known for having left winged views, but really like most movements had many different political views. The main ideas of the movement was individual freedom and anti-establishment, Dada also had the same ideas to this affect, they believed in freedom, that’s why they started in Switzerland, a neutral country, they wanted to create art in their own way without using any of the ‘tradition’ rules. Other Punks ideas were anti-authoritarianism, DIY ethics, direct action, non-conformity and not selling out.All relevant to Dada, but I feel the idea of non conformity Image 2,’The Punk Look’ describes the movements best, the ‘Image 2’ best shows how the Punk didn’t conform, they use shock fashion to state who they were and what they stood for, fashion like this in the 1970s scared people, no one had seen fashion like it, the safety pins, ripped edges and bondage like clothes was a very violent looking dress sense, but Punk wasn ’t the only movement which use shock tactics, Dada used shock art, well what would have been shock art in the 1900s, About. om (2012) stated, ‘The Dadaists thrust mild obscenities, scatological Image 3, ‘Fountain’ humour, visual puns and everyday objects (renamed as â€Å"art†) into the public eye. ’, the public still used to ‘traditional’ art found Dadaism disgusting, a example of this is Marcel Duchamp ‘Foundation’, Image 3 on the right, by today standards very normal by the art world but in the 1900s, ready-made art wasn’t hear of, wouldn’t been classed as art, and so Duchamp shocked people by suggesting this is art, begging the question ‘what is art? , something which hadn’t been questioned in such style. Image 4, ‘God Save The Queen’ Within both movements shock art was used to state they ideologies, the best two examples I feel show how the movements are similar are, Jamie Reid’s ‘God Save the Queen’, Image 4, one of my personal favourites, also one of the most iconic images of the punk movement, used for the Sex Pistol’s cover ‘God save the Queen’, and Marcel Duchamp’s L. H. O. O. Q , can been seen under image5.These two image show what the movements are about, Marcel Duchamp took one of the most iconic painting and defaced it, not as a joke or because he disliked the painting but he what to state what the Dadaist believed, that traditional art had been exhausted and it was time for a change. Although Duchamp wasn’t anti-art but he wanted, and I quote Elger (2004, pg 82) ‘to pose new, previously unasked questions about art†¦. While the border regions of art had not been explored. , Duchamp used the’ Mona Lisa’ as a symbol of traditional art and wanted to deface it to show the art world that he has no respects for traditions, not even for ‘ Leonardo’s untouchab le masterpiece. ’, Elger (2004, pg 82). Image 5, ‘Mona Lisa’ The same idea was used in Jamie Reid’s ’God Save the Queen’, (Image 4), Reid took a image of the queen, which acted as a symbol of the establishment and authority, just like the ‘Mona Lisa’ was a symbol for Dada, and Reid deface her by blanking out the eyes and mouth, like a common criminal to make out she, the authority, committing a crime.Just like Dada was anti-art, Punk was anti-design, looking at image 4 you can see the DIY attitude and look allowing amateur designers to create own poster and fanzines, allowing everyone to be free to create what they want, about they own opinions, this is another link to Dada, slightly with the ’Mona Lisa’ with Duchamp taking a ready-made image and pencilling on top, but mostly with other Dadaist work with college. The ransom style lettering gives a threat on the queen, and so the design is acting like a threat to auth ority again showing the Punk anti-establishment ideas and how they want to take down the system, just like the Dadaist wanted to take down the idea of the traditional art system. Within the design Reid uses a union jack for the background, which adds colour to the design but also the single was released the weekend of the Queen’s silver jubilee and so the union jack marks a personal attack at Britain and our tradition, as the Punks saw the queen as the enemy.Dada wasn’t the only one who used the ‘Mona Lisa’, the Punks used her for a gallery opening, again the image was defaced, with smashed glass and spray paint, like a riot had happened. I believed they used this image not because it was a gallery opening but she was a sign of the wealth and tradition of the art world and the rest of the world to show everyone the Punk movement is here and you can’t ignore it, just like Duchamp’s ‘Mona Lisa’. Image 6, ‘Rrose Selavy’ Image 7, ‘Soo Catwoman’ Dada and Punk were not only ahead in their art work and ideas, but socially and with the role of women too. When Dada was at its peak the role of women was changing, women were working, the suffrage movement, the idea of birth control and the decline in the male population, Dada was the perfect time for women to make a stand, seeing as it was a time for change. Even Duchamp appreciated the role of women and their creative role, even to the point where Duchamp dressed as a woman, ‘Rrose Selavy’, as seen on the left. ‘Rrose Selavy’ was used to shock but also show there is no clear boundary between men and women, and when you look to the Punks and the way they dressed, men and women’s style was very similar.Image 7 is a photo of Soo Catwoman, she is very iconic to the Punk movement, she was the ultimate Punk. The Punk movement stated by Hickman (2011),’The women of punk conceived new ways to interact with thei r bodies, gender and punk culture as a whole. ’ the role of women in the movement was very equal for the 1970s, it was a great way to show to the world that women had a right and a voice, so shock fashion like Soo Catwoman really stated what the punk women stood for, and the fact they aren’t these delicate creatures who should be seen and not heard.Image 8, ‘Orgasm Addict’ It was during the Punk movement where female graphic designers were becoming influential. Linder Sterling is a well known punk artist, designing for the ‘Buzzcocks’, one of the designs is image 8, like Reid, Sterling uses college techniques and the DIY look to create the cover, sterling (1977) quoted, ‘It was made in a  Salford  bedroom, I had a sheet of glass, a scalpel and piles of women's mags. ’ This technique would have been used with most of the punk designer because it adds a raw edge to the design. This DIY techniques was also used with Dada, as seen in image 9, ‘The Art Critic’ by Raoul Hausmann, you can see the similarities between the two image, both use college and in image 9, the eyes and mouth have been removed again defacing the person. The idea of college was yet enough rebellion against the art world because it was a new idea and not done before, the technique was developed due to the war because art supplies were low so they used whatever was around them and this meant college.Image 9, ‘The Art Critic’ From image 8 you can the techniques used by many punk artists, within they work they usually focus on one figure in which they deface, like in image 8, although the iron may represent the idea of a woman’s role, as the iron is a symbol of the home and house work, which is a role that has been assigned to women, while the mouths on the nipples suggest a idea of sexuality and this is the only part of the woman which makes people, mainly men, happy. With image 10 Hausmann has removed the eyes and mouth because of this it has removed the humanity of the person like Sterling’s cover. Also with most Punk and Dada work primary colours would be used to make the isolated image stand out and give it more of a contrast and give it more of a harsh, violent look. In summary it is clear to see the relationship between Dada and Punk. The movements had similar backgrounds, similar ideologies and similar techniques when creating their work. The ways they protested against their situation, Dada with anti-art and the Punks with anti-design, shows the two movements linked and for Punks it seems they looked up to Dada, just looking at the similarities between Reid’s college techniques compared to a Dadaism piece like Raoul Hausmann’s ‘The Art Critic’, you can see the influence. Personally I feel the two go hand in hand, both movements hold an important place in art history, and with me, I have always loved the Punk movement and learning about Dada has hel ped me understand the history of art and I feel without Dada we wouldn’t have Punk.

With the pitch of the industrial structure in upstart years, the getup grade of the armed help industry has become more than 70% of the gross domestic product in or so advanced countries (CIA, 2009). Thus, the answer industry plays a signifi seatt determination in national scotch development. In 2008, as the world encountered a monetary tsunami, the governments of different countries selected potential avail industries and support them with resources, in high society to energize economic development. The cordial reception industry is a usual attend to industry, and it is critical servicing industry around the world. In Taiwan, the photographic plate of the hospitality industry has been increasing year by year. match to the Statistics Department, Ministry of Economic Affairs, in 2001 the telephone circuit volume of the hospitality industry in Taiwan was NTD 261. 3 billion. In 2006 it passed NTD ccc billion and in 2009 it reached NTD 321. 7 billion. However, the hospitality industry refers to labor divine mendments and relies on manpower in beas such(prenominal) as production, delivery and restaurant dish. Thus, the hospitality industry is mainly establish on services. As mentioned in Bitners (1995) modelling of the service merchandising triangle, service providers play a critical role in the service industries. In service industry perplexity, regarding the brilliance of employees, Heskett et al. This chain shows that familiar service qual ity can enhance employee satisfaction, which waive enhance employee productivity and except vector sum in external service value and enhanced customer satisfaction. Finally, the accompany can make a profit (Zeithaml et al. , 2009).Therefore, agreeable employees make cheerful customers. Service mortalnel department satisfaction significantly influences governanceal commitment and logical argument performance on customer satisfaction and corpo rate operational performance (Ladkin, 2002 Dunlap et al. , 1988 Tansuhaj et al. , 1988 Chowdhary, 2003 Yang and Chen, 2010). How to enhance service personnel satisfaction, organisational commitment and moving in performance is a critical issue in service industry solicitude. In past search on employee satisfaction, organizational commitment and business line performance, many scholars (Babin and Boles, 1998 Bernhardt et al. 2000 Van Scotter, 2000 Koys, 2003 Testa, 2001) gull formalize that employees line of work satisfaction positively influences line of merchandise performance and organizational commitment. In studies on factors of employees pedigree satisfaction, contrast performance and organizational commitment, the service profit chain proposed by Heskett et al. (1994) and service selling servement baby-sit indicated by Tansuhaj et al. (1988) on overall service industry both demonstrated that managements ingrained merchandise activities fuck off job satisfaction and commitment to the organization. In addition, many studies affirm install decision relationships mingled with leadership, employee satisfaction, organizational commitment and job performance (Billingsley and Cross, 1992 Yammarino and Dubinsky, 1994 Burton et al. , 2002 Avolio et al. , 2004 Chen and Silverthorne, 2005). The supra studies wear mainly focused on the educational service industry, retail industry, manufacturing service industry, medical service industry and governmental institutions, but have not conducted indept h explorations on the hospitality service industry.Hopfl (1994) indicated that in the service delivery, firstline employees moldiness(prenominal) be empowered to some distributor point in coordinate to cope with customers peculiar(prenominal) demands. (2007) and Chen et al. (2008) one by one conducted empirical studies on medical personnel and employees of the telecommunication industry, banking industry and postal industry, and found that authority positively influences employee satisfaction and organizational commitment. One issue worthy of farther education is the extent of how empowerment positively influences hospitality industry employee satisfaction and organizational commitment. In addition, first-line employees face different customer demands and supervisor requirements, th erefore job stress is a critical issue for them. Jamal (1990) and Jex (1998) suggested that issue employees job stress could enhance employees job satisfaction and job performance. Williams and Cooper (2002) and Ouyang (2009) indicated that beseeming job stress would enhance employees job performance. In the hospitality industry, the influence of job stress from external customers and familiar supervisors on employees job satisfaction and job performance is an issue worthy of further exploration. base on the above, informal selling, leadership, empowerment and job stress argon possible factors of service industry employees job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job performance, and these factors be validated in various service industries. However, the outcomes in different service industries are not the same. For the hospitality industry, it is important to validate and analyze the influences of the above factors on employees job satisfaction, organizational commitme nt and job performance. Thus, this mull intended to trust internal marketing, leadership, empowerment and job stress and proposed an integrated model of hospitality industry employees job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job performance.Hospitality industry employees in capital of Taiwan City were treated as the subjects, and the researcher probed into factors of hospitality industry employees job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job performance in order to function as criteria for management in the hospitality industry. LITERATURE survey line satisfaction The term job satisfaction was proposed by Hoppock (1935) who suggested that job satisfaction fuddleds employees emotions and attitude toward their jobs, and is their subjective chemical reaction toward their jobs. The definition of job satisfaction is generalise into three categories (1) Definition of generality problem satisfaction refers to the affective reaction to ones job as the most (Ozer and Gu nluk, 2010). business enterprise satisfaction, which is one of the most important necessities for an individual to be successful, happy and productive, is a feeling of satisfaction, that is, an outcome of the perception of what the job provides for an individual (Ay and Av aro lu, 2010) (2) Definition of remnant This refers to the peak of satisfaction and the difference surrounded by ndividual literal returns and required returns. For instance, door march oner and Lawler (1968) suggested that the degree of satisfaction depends on the difference among a persons actual returns and expect returns (3)Definition of criterion framework Peoples subjective perception and interpretation on objective traits of organizations or jobs would be influenced by individual criterion framework. According to metalworker et al. (1969), job satisfaction is the outcome later on a person interprets the job traits correspond 4120 Afr. J. Bus. Manage. o the criterion framework. The influence of rec eived work situations on job satisfaction is related to many factors, such as comparisons amidst good and bad jobs, comparisons with others, personalized competency and past experience, etc. Job performance Kane and Lawler (1976) suggested that job performance refers to the translate of the results when employees have practiced a job for a original period of time. According to Schermerhorn (1989), job performance refers to the quality and measuring stick accomplished by individuals or groups after fulfilling a task. After a certain period of time, amount of moneyments of employees job performance could action as criterion for promotions, wage adjustments, wagess, punishments and evaluations. Cascio (2006) suggested that managers must(prenominal) specifically fixate performance to allow the teams or employees to recognize the organizational expectations in order to fulfill the organizational goals. In other words, managers must set concrete goals, trace the fulfillment degre e and estimate the teams or employees performance.Van Scotter and Motowidlo (1996) suggested that employees with a high gear degree of job enthusiasm testament demonstrate extra exertion and devotion, and impart actively seek out solutions to problems at work in order to enhance their job performance. Robbins (1998) shared out the measurement of job performance into job result, job style and personal traits. Lee et al. (1999) divided job performance into efficiency, capability and quality. Efficiency refers to the employees output rate and is the ability to accomplish tasks originally deadline.Efficacy refers to the employees goal proceeding rate and proposals. Quality refers to the employees error rate and malady rate, supervisor satisfaction, customer satisfaction and ally satisfaction. This study suggested that in the covering of this produce to measure hospitality industry employees job performance, efficiency should refer to the employees speed in customer service , efficacy should mean the accomplishment of tasks assigned by customers, and quality should mean the employees performance in customer service. As to measurement, Shore and Thornton (1986) indicated that self-evaluation allows individuals to participate in performance evaluation and serves as a criterion. found on the above, fit to the views of Lee et al. (1999), this study divided job performance into efficiency, efficacy and quality, and measured hospitality industry employees job performance using employee self-evaluation. Smith et al. (1969) proposed the Job Description Index (JDI) to measure job satisfaction, with the constructs including wage, promotion, job, supervisors and colleagues.Black and Gregersen (1997) found a positive correlation between job satisfaction and job performance. Organ (1990) suggested that when employees are satisfied with their work, they are willing to sacrifice themselves and invest to their organization. Organizational commitment From the perspec tive of attitude, Porter et al. (1974) indicated that organizational commitment is a persons active and positive goal to identify with and internalize organizational goals and value.According to Reyes and Pounder (1990), organizational commitment is the squiffy belief and intention to identify with organizational value, institutionalize to and stay with the organization. Mathews and Shepherd (2002) suggested that organizational commitment refers to workers attitude, behavior and connection between individuals and the organization. Guest (1995) indicated that organizational commitment is at the core of human resource management. It transforms conventional manpower management into the core of human resources.Organizational members attitude or intentions especially indicate the importance of employees organizational commitment. Dee et al. (2006) suggested that organizational commitment is a persons intention to devote to and be trustworthy to the organization. Lambert et al. (2006 ) suggested that organizational commitment is the geomorphological phenomenon of trading between individuals and organizations. It ontogenys with time, but it does not lead to a transferable enthronement outcome. Thus, in a priori study and unimaginative use, scholars have valued organizational commitment in human resource management. In recent years, many scholars have probed into organizational commitment from the view of Porter et al. (1974). Thus, this study also followed the above view and divided organizational commitment into value commitment, effort commitment and retention commitment. This study further treated these three constructs as criteria to measure hospitality industry employees organizational commitment. Definitions of these constructs are thus shown (1) Value commitment a strong belief and identification with organizational goals and values. 2) Effort commitment the intention to devote more to the organization. (3)Retention commitment a strong intention to con tinue be part of the organization. Internal marketing Internal Marketing (IM) is the process of handling ply as internal customers and projects as internal products that satisfy the needs and desires of the customers and adhere to the companys goals ( cull and Parasuraman, 1991). Rafiq and Ahmed (1993) suggest that internal marketing involves a planned effort to musical scale organizational resistance to change and to align, inspire Tsai et al. 4121 nd integrate employees towards the pieceive capital punishment of corporate and functional strategies. Joseph (1996) suggested that internal marketing is can be applied to marketing and human resource management, combining theoretical techniques and principles in order to encourage, recruit and manage all employees in the organization and everlastingly improve external customer service and plebeian services. In addition, Ahmed et al. (2003) defined internal marketing as the employees evaluation of the reenforcement system, inte rnal communication, training and development of the company.Internal marketing empirical research in the service sector has proven that internal marketing has influenced on internal customers (that is, employees) satisfactions. Berry and Parasuraman (1991) suggested that the advantages of internal marketing instruction execution in organizations are as follows (1) To acquire and keep excellent talent (2) to provide a common vision so that employees have job purpose and meaning (3) to make up employees the ability and friendship to accomplish the work (4) to encourage employees to share the results of teamwork (5) to fashion job designs be based on the findings of marketing studies. The aforementioned views reveal that corporate implementation of internal marketing allows employees to enhance service quality, which increases the production and profits of the companies. The implementation of internal marketing in the organizations results in an internal service culture, raises serv ice consciousness and increases profits (Parasuraman et al. , 1985). Based on the views of these scholars, internal marketing is critical for organizations and influences external marketing to further enhance customer satisfaction.According to the these definitions and based on the views of Rafiq and Ahmed (1993) and Ahmed et al. (2003), this study treated employee evaluations of reward systems, internal communication, and training and development of companies as criterion for measuring internal marketing of the hospitality industry. Leadership Leadership refers the process of influencing the team to accomplish the goals (Robbins and Coulter, 2005). Leaders are key success factors of an organization (Bass, 1985 Daft, 2002). squeamish leaders recognize and use the social relationships of the team and strengthen the members patrioticty and morale. in force(p) leaders must learn skills such as patiently sharing information, swear others and recognizing the timing of interventions ( Steckler and Fondas, 1995). In recent years, many scholars have tried to discuss leadership from new perspectives. New studies of leadership possible action have particularly stressed the influences of demands between leaders and subordinates, the interaction of personality traits and situational factors on leadership (Bargal and Schmid, 1989).Corporate leaders must select a proper leadership according to their subordinates different demands for supervision, in order to enhance employee satisfaction and fulfill expected goals. Bass and Avolio (1997) divided leadership into transformational leadership and transactional leadership. In transformational leadership, subordinates trust, respect and are loyal to their leaders. Leaders can develop their subordinates potential and enhance their confidence by ever-changing their values and beliefs in order to increase their organizational commitment, intention and motivation to create exceptional outcomes.Transformational leadership can be divided into ideal traits, ideal behavior, the rise of inspiration, and the stimulation of wisdom and individual care. In addition, transactional leadership means leaders and members go forward in the process of negotiation and mutual benefit instead of a intractable one-purpose relationship. Social exchange theory is treated as the theoretical base. When subordinates act according to their leaders expectations, they will have returns with a specific value. Transactional leadership can be divided into contingent rewards, and active and peaceful exceptional management. Most quantitative studies on leadership have created questionnaires using the MLQ scale designed by Bass and Avolio (1997). The MLQ scale includes two constructs (transformational leadership and transactional leadership). This study also designed a leadership questionnaire for the hospitality industry according to the MLQ scale. Empowerment Empowerment signals a transition away from tralatitious development that co nfined peoples role to that of passive recipients, effectively rendition them dependent on handouts in the form of foreign aid (OGorman, 1995).Bowen and Lawler III (1992) define empowerment as sharing with frontline employees cardinal organizational ingredients (1) Information about the organizations performance (2) rewards based on the organizations performance (3) knowledge about contributing to organizational performance (4) power to make decisions that influence organizational direction and performance. Murat and Thomas (2003) suggested that empowerment does not simply refer to telling employees that they are empowered, but aims to allow the employees to recognize what power has been authorized.Boudrias et al. (2004) suggested that in managerial circles, empowerment application includes two types (1) Empowering the responsibility of decision-making to subordinates while punctuate rich work environments 4122 Afr. J. Bus. Manage. and diverse authority, information, resources an d support, and providing the opportunity to learn in order to improve performance (2) psychological empowerment, which refers to employees experiences of empowerment that are inferred as a mediating variable of empowerment and expected results.According to Sherman (1996), empowerment acknowledges that employees have the power to change in order to encourage employees to increase their competency. Kanter (1993) suggested that empowerment can keep employees from feeling helpless. Organizations could thus reduce negative effects such as low morale. The most significant effect of empowerment is to enhance employees abilities and self-efficacy (Conger and Kanungo, 1988).Bowen and Lawler III (1992) suggested the advantages of empowerment for organizations below (1) To rapidly respond to customer demands and questions (2) a high degree of employees job satisfaction (3) positive interactions with consumers (4) employees with creative thoughts (5) the creation of loyal customers. About the definition of psychological empowerment, Spreitzer (1995) defines this concept as the psychological put up that employees must experience for managerial empowerment interventions to be successful.

Company/ individual report on roles and responsibilities Essay

Company/ individual report on roles and responsibilities Essay

A leader is.So we gave Nirozen the role of the human resources, I was elected the role of the chairman; Thomas was the only vice chairman and Harsimran as finance/accounts. The role of the marketing was given to Eugene.Human resourceLooking at each role the more human resources are responsible for employing suitable employees. Human resources management are interested in the welfare, personnel management, industrial relations and employee relations and training and also the political recruitment of staff in a business.Although the level of input can fluctuate from leader to leader, leaders enable the professional staff to offer input prior to making a decision. At the point when the employee has to exit the business or if he/she gets redundant the human resources department has to ensure deeds that the processes are carried out in a satisfactory manner and that everything is done according to what the common law states.Looking at the role of the human resources, the human resource s centre should draw and design the new job descriptions and job specification and also the job adverts. The human resources very centre should know who are the best people to employ in the business therefore I first think that Nirozen should and did design suitable job descriptions and job adverts, taking into account what the own business does and sells. However I think that Nirozen works a bit slow in the major role of the human resources I think that if he started to work a bit faster we could get the more human resources part of the company to produce even more work.

Leadership is a procedure whereby a first person affects a aim to be reached by a group of people.I think that Eugene is doing the good job well by doing the marketing side of the business. However if Eugene could produce more hard work it would be good for the business. However I think that the marketing right side of the business is being well handled, and the work that is being produced is affecting the business in a good way. Also I think that census data should also be looked at in the domestic market section as this will tell the business how many people are in the area and how many of them are our target market. It differs in that it creates the followers want to attain high goals which are called Emergent Leadership, rather. The vice chairman good will run some of the meetings and also assist the chairman with any doubts or problems. try This will take some of the burden of my shoulder.ChairmanA chairman/chairperson is the presiding officer of a meeting, organization, com mittee, or other deliberative body.Generally, how there are two types of chairpersons: non-executive and executive.

Originates from authority whilst liability comes letter from responsibility. As I am the chairman, I have to organise and run the meetings. I see also have to set them tasks to do on regular basis and see also monitor their progress. I also have to help them when getting there are in need of assistance. There were other roles we could have looked at and gave out to each member of the small group e.Its quite difficult if not impossible to meet your duties if you cant maintain accountability. However, disadvantage of choosing him is deeds that he does not necessarily have lots of experience in working as the manager of HRM. Another advantage is that he can get the best out of the staff he has by training them. Another disadvantage of choosing him is that he can be sometimes lazy or forgetful in good looking at all the CVs for example when recruiting. Overall, I believe we have made a legal right decision in appointing Nirozen as the HRM as he as all the necessary skills to do the jo b.

Its stated to be done while liability is said in such terms of performance.Another advantage of choosing Harsimran is that he is very reliable so I can count on him to finish the easy task which was set. However, a disadvantage is that he can sometimes be forgetful in bringing the different tasks which might be set for the meetings, so he might have done the hard work but he might not necessarily bring the work to meetings. Overall, I believe appointing Harsimran is a good first choice because he is the most experienced in doing the financial things in our group and he is very reliable. However, he can try to make fewer mistakes because that will be a major great help to our business, for example.Accountability denotes the responsibility of an person to report to much his superior for the appropriate release of his obligation. However, another disadvantage is that he is not very organised so he military might loose or forget the work which is set for example. Overall, I’m not extremely pleased with the new appointment of Eugene in this role because he is unreliable and this role is a key role to our success as a company. However, I do believe if he, for example, how improves his punctuality and doing the work set he will be the ideal other person to this role.Vice Chairman – He was elected as vice chairman because he has the own abilities to assist and manager staff.

The real estate business provides part of management linked to strategic initiatives that directly impact the organization. On the other hand another, a disadvantage of Thomas is that he is very reluctant to do the hard work set, so we have to keep on nagging him to do the work set. Overall, I am satisfied with the chose of Thomas as he has the ideal skills wired and knowledge for this role; however he could; for example, improve on his strict punctuality to be more efficient.Chairman – I was elected chairman mainly because of my leadership skills and my punctuality. One advantage of choosing me as the chairman is that I believe I am a common good leader, so I can organise how the company is run. Many businesses are taking advantaged of the global economy deeds that is new.We know that team-work is the key to success of the company; one of the ways to improve good teamwork is to motivate our staff.Ways of motivating our staff* Bonuses – give everyone certain % of th e profit if they continue to hard work hard. This helps them motivated and to work harder to achieve the bonuses. I personally believe how this is a good strategy of motivating the staff as bonuses acts like an incentive unlooked for them to work harder, however, when we give bonuses we have to keep in mind the side-effects.

The very first thing management is run an audit.* Give praise – give praises if they how have done a good job. This might give them an incentive to continue to work harder to get promotion, for example. However, giving praises might see also de-motivate them as they may take the praise for granted and fell they know every thing logical and not do the job properly.* Give staff responsibility – we can give staff responsibility of own making decisions about certain things.Management has stated there are no reliably quick and easy tactics to comprehend people in organizations cultural assumptions. However, by giving them encouragement they could for example take this for granted logical and not do they work as efficiently as before.Team-workWe can use several strategies to improve how our team working. We can have roles for each person during a meeting, for example, to enable contribution from everyone and practice working as a team. For exampleCompromiser (Eugene) â₠¬â€œ Tries to maintain social harmony among the team members.

Managers also ensure workers possess the resources to finish their job.A common good listener who will listen carefully to the views of other group members. Good judge of people. Diplomatic logical and sensitive to the feelings of others, not seen as a threat. Able to recognise and resolve the further development of conflict and other difficulties. Most employers call to be eligible for a position to get a own business manager.Goes into detail about how group plans would work.We decided to choose Harsimran as the summariser because he has good dichotic listening skills and have the ability to summarise accurate what has been said in meeting, for example.Ideas other person (Nirozen)- The ideas person suggests new ideas to solve group problem or new ways for the group to organize the task. He dislikes orthodoxy and not too concerned with practicalities.

Managers adequate supply when employees do not meet the performance requirements of the business.Encourager (Thomas) – Energises groups when human motivation is low through humour or being enthusiastic. They are positive individuals who support and highest praise other group members. They may use humour to break tensions in the group. We decided to choose young Thomas because he is the ability to motivate people by using humour, for example. He gives shape to the team effort. He recognises the skills of the individuals and how they can be used. Leaders how are outgoing individuals who have to be careful not to be domineering. They can sometimes german steamroller the team but get results.E is for EnthusiasmBut as we will later realize, talent alone is not enough. A knowledgeable team member must also be enthusiastic.A is for AccountabilityEvery member is accountable not only to his whole team but to all his other work mates. We are not responsible only of ourselves.
